The Election Commission (EC) suspends the returning officer of Kalaroa municipality in Satkhira after it found irregularities in his activities regarding holding elections to the local government body.

The home ministry imposes a seven-day ban on carrying licensed firearms across Dhaka and Chittagong city corporation areas ahead of the city polls scheduled for April 28.
