The High Court yesterday confirmed the death sentences of Pradeep Kumar Das, former officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, and former sub-inspector Liaqat Ali for killing Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.

Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das and Inspector Liaqat Ali, in-charge of Baharchhara Police Investigation Centre, and Sub-Inspector Nandadulal Raxit were each placed on seven-day remand today in connection with the killing of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.

Liakat Ali, in-charge of Baharchhara Police Investigation Centre, Pradip Kumar, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Police Station, and seven others have been sued in a case filed over the death of Maj (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan, who was shot dead at a check-post in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila on Friday.
