“Makeup” has been awarded a "U" grade, meaning it’s suitable for audiences of all ages. Director Mamun shared, "We've removed just one minute of footage. Cutting that small portion won’t impact the overall story. The producer is eager for people to watch the film, so we've decided to release it in theatres on January 10."

After being delayed for five years, "Makeup" finally received approval for release on December 17 from the Certification Board.

This is the second time now that the release of Anonno Mamun’s “Makeup” has been halted by the Bangladesh Film Censor Board. On January 21, the Appellate Committee declared the film ‘unfit’ for a theatrical release.
