A Manikganj court has placed a bus driver and his helper on three-day remand for an attempted rape of an expatriate woman.

A female college student has been allegedly gang-raped by seven men in Singair upazila of Manikganj.

The High Court issues a rule asking the government to explain in four weeks why it should not be directed to compensate Tk 50 lakh to the 22-year-old girl who “was raped by two police officers of Saturia Police Station” in February this year.

Two police officials in Manikganj were arrested and placed on a six-day remand yesterday in a case filed over the rape of a woman.
