Family members of the late actor Manna have expressed discontent over the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to digitally recreate him in a new television series, "Blackstone." The show creator, Shahriar Gaalib recently brought Manna's digital avatar back to the screen for the series.

This VFX-driven series pays homage to Dhallywood's beloved actor, Manna, in its first episode.

Originally named "Lilamanthan", the film's shooting began in 2005. However, unfortunately, the actor passed away mid-way through shooting, and everything stood still.

The National Film Award winning actress would continue to receive similar levels of fame and love from her fans for her performances on both the small and big screen, having also made her name as a presenter on the side.

On an average, Manna acted in 10 movies each year. Among films released last year, Manna played lead roles in commercially successful films including “Shajghar”, “Khomotar Garam”, “Moner Shathey Juddho”
