The Bangladesh government allocates special grants to bolster the Bengali film industry, every year. For the financial year 2023-24, the government has decided to support about 20 full-length films across four categories. Out of these, 16 films will each receive a grant of Tk 75 lakhs, while the remaining four will be awarded Tk 50 lakhs each.

Sanjoy Somadder's debut Indian film, “Manush”, premiered in Kolkata on November 24. Although there were plans to release the movie in Bangladesh on the same day, complications arose, leading to a temporary halt on the release. Originally slated for distribution in Bangladesh by Jazz Multimedia, the rights were eventually transferred to Anonno Mamun and his production company.

National Film Award-winning actress Bidya Sinha Mim is gearing up for the release of her much-anticipated film, "Manush". The catch? The release is not happening in her home country but in the vibrant city of Kolkata, India.

"I have always celebrated puja with my parents but since they will remain abroad for a few more months, I won’t be able to celebrate with them this year," said the actress.

Written by the director Sanjoy Somadder himself, the story of "Manush" depicts the cruelty of human nature and the consequences of people losing their humanity. 

Leading the pack amongst Bangladeshi stars is Jaya Ahsan, who has been a consistent presence in Kolkata's Bengali cinema for over a decade. Not only has she won the hearts of Kolkata's audience, but she has also received numerous awards and accolades.

The Indian production, "Manush", has been in the news for its popular cast and strong plot line which has sparked curiosity amongst the audience.
