The long-awaited journey towards Bangladesh’s first deep-sea port at Matarbari in Cox’s Bazar is finally approaching a major milestone.

Construction work on the first terminal of Bangladesh’s maiden deep sea port at Matarbari in the Moheshkhali upazila of Cox’s Bazar will start soon as the tender process for appointing a contractor is in the final stages.

The port is visible now and the construction work of the jetty and container yard will start in July, he said while talking to reporters after a trip to Matarbari
