Deepto TV has announced a week-long special programme to mark Eid-ul-Fitr, featuring a lineup of Bengali films, including three world premieres.

Star Cineplex, the country’s most advanced cine-theatre, has marked 20 years since its establishment. This milestone year witnessed a groundbreaking achievement with the Shakib Khan-starrer “Toofan”. The global blockbuster became the most successful movie at Star Cineplex, surpassing Hollywood and Bollywood hits.

The film “Toofan”, starring Shakib Khan, Mimi Chakraborty, and Nabila, hit theatres last Eid-ul-Azha and quickly garnered significant attention from audiences nationwide. Directed by Raihan Rafi, the film sparked interest even before its release, especially with the launch of the song “Dushtu Kokil” on June 26, which was featured on two prominent YouTube channels. 

The much-anticipated film “Toofan,” starring superstar Shakib Khan, has finally hit theatres in Malaysia starting August 23, following two previous delays. 

Hundreds of women joined the protests in Kolkata and other cities in Bengal, demanding accountability for the brutal crime. The protests, which began at 11:55pm under the slogan “For women’s independence on the midnight of independence,” have been spearheaded by activists and ordinary citizens alike, reflecting a shared determination to reclaim safety and justice for women.

The song “Laage Ura Dhura” from the Eid special release “Toofan” quickly gained widespread popularity online, upon its release. Featuring vocals by Pritom Hasan and Debosrie Antara, the track has not only been trending in Bangladesh but has also made its mark on YouTube's global trending chart. 

The song "Laage Ura Dhura", directed by Raihan Rafi and starring Shakib Khan and Mimi Chakraborty, has achieved significant success, currently trending at number four on the YouTube Charts Global Weekly Top Songs.

The movie stars Shakib Khan alongside India's Mimi Chakraborty and Bangladesh's Nabila, with significant roles played by Chanchal Chowdhury, Fazlur Rahman Babu, Gazi Rakayet, Salauddin Lavlu, and Gausul Alam Shaon. 

Since its release in Bangladesh, the Shakib Khan starrer film “Toofan” is now creating quite a stir in West Bengal. The excitement was palpable at Thursday night's press conference, where it became evident that the people of West Bengal are keenly interested in the blockbuster. 

Private TV channel Deepto has announced to host a “Shakib Week” from July 6 to 12, showcasing seven of Shakib Khan’s prominent films. This week-long event highlights the star's extensive filmography, despite no specific occasion prompting the celebration.

From metro stations to billboards, “Toofan” posters are prominently displayed throughout Kolkata. Industry insiders are optimistic that the film will replicate its success in Bangladesh and achieve similar acclaim in India.

The production house also shared that "Toofan” will be running in 22 theatres in America this week. However, the number of theatres will exceed 50 by July 12.

Recently, he participated in an exclusive interview with the Indian Express, delving into his distinguished career and offering insights on a range of subjects.

Several movies, songs, and OTT content have hit the screens and digital platforms during Eid ul-Azha, garnering significant attention and applause from audiences. Among them, the spotlight has prominently shone on the movie "Toofan", directed by Raihan Rafi.

Today, the much awaited Shakib Khan starrer ‘’Toofan” finally arrived in cinemas. 123 halls are screening the Raihan Rafi directorial project.

The trailer opens with a chilling voiceover from Chanchal Chowdhury, describing the titular character, Toofan, with the lines: "He is not humane, he is not savage either, Toofan is what he wanted to be…monster (rakkhosh)." This sets the tone for the dark and intense journey of Toofan, portrayed by Shakib Khan, from his adolescence to his rise as a notorious national-level criminal.

The release of the energetic title track of “Toofan” (titled after the film) several days ago, amped up its reception across social media platforms almost immediately. Notably, Tahsan Shuvo, the man behind many title tracks for Bengali films, was also the one who penned the lyrics of the song.

To promote the film, Kolkata star Mimi Chakraborty arrived in Dhaka early yesterday, having flown in from Kolkata the same afternoon. She attended a press conference held at a five-star hotel in the capital on Wednesday evening.

This Eid-ul-Azha, it is almost certain that three films will hit the silver screens—“Toofan”, “Moyurakkhi” and “Revenge”. These films feature three ace actresses -- Shobnom Bubly, Eamin Haque Bobby and Indian actress Mimi Chakraborty.
