Authorities must take steps to improve digital access

The cabinet yesterday approved a draft of the Government Telephone, Cellular and Internet Policy-2018 raising the mobile phone allowance for ministers and secretaries to Tk 75,000 from Tk 15,000.

The number of active mobile connections in Bangladesh has reached 15.028 crore at the end of March 2018, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) says in a report.
