Police yesterday said they did not arrest quota reform leader Lutfun Nahar Luma in connection with a viral video clip where a girl is seen spreading rumours over the recent student protest for road safety.

Bangladesh government has been engaged in a countrywide crackdown; tracking down individuals who they said helped propagate rumours and instigate the student protests - not sparing students or international personalities. Calls to stop such activities have so far fallen on deaf ears.
