A Dhaka court yesterday granted bail to Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury, secretary general of Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity, in an extortion case.

While family members of road safety campaigner Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury sought the prime minister's intervention for his release in an extortion case, police yesterday moved to show him arrested in another case filed in February.

A Dhaka court yesterday sent Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury, secretary general of Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity, to jail rejecting prayers for bail and remand in a case filed for extortion.
