Eminent cultural personality Mustafa Monwar, 89, has been on life support at Square Hospital since Saturday night.

Mustafa Monwar, lovingly known as Bangladesh's "Puppet Man," has been a towering figure in the country's artistic and cultural landscape. Born on September 1, 1935, Monwar’s contributions to puppetry, painting, visual arts, and television have made him a symbol of creative freedom and expression.

In a striking display of unity and protest, numerous Bangladeshi celebrities have changed their profile pictures on social media to a solid field of red, in response to the deaths during the recent quota reform protests. This movement has quickly gained traction, showcasing the collective voice of the people against violence and injustice.

I've played substantial roles in dramas directed by Mustafa Monwar, a prominent and respected artiste in the country. He directed me in a drama inspired by Rabindranath Tagore's works, where I played a pivotal role.

Celebrating their success, the channel is going to honour noted artist Mustafa Monwar for his contributions in the media and renowned artiste Dolly Zahur for her illustrious acting career.
