I sing the song of equality– Of a country where fresh joy blossoms in every heart

Kazi Nazrul Islam (1899-1976), was a poet, novelist, lyricist and musician in Bengali, and was popularly known as the rebel poet.

It is difficult to maintain even a semblance of neutrality when a song bewitches you from the second it starts playing – that is what Coke Studio Bangla’s newest release, “Bulbuli”, did to my ‘trained’ musical ear. On the first day of the Bengali New Year, the musical production paid a perfect homage to our National Poet, Kazi Nazrul Islam.

'O Mon Ramzan-er Oi Rozar Sheshey Elo Khushir Eid', the impressive song of National Poet Kazi Najrul Islam, is completing 85 years on the day of this Eid-ul-Fitr.
