Kolkata Police today summoned suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma for questioning in connection with her controversial remarks on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

A lawyer in Jammu and Kashmir has filed a complaint before a court there, seeking punitive action against former BJP spokespersons Nupur Sharma, Navin Jindal and others for recent "blasphemous" remarks against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) .

Two police officers, including the officer-in-charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station, were injured in an attack from a procession organised to protest suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma's derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Delhi Police registered a case against nine people, including former BJP members Nupur Sharma and Naveen Jindal and journalist Saba Naqvi, for allegedly spreading hatred.

India today termed the comments by Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as “unwarranted and narrow-minded”. OIC was reacting to offensive remarks by two BJP leaders against Islam. India asked OIC to “stop pursuing its communal approach.”
