Amid increased import of onions from Myanmar, prices of the essential cooking ingredient came down a little in the capital’s wholesale markets yesterday, a day after the price skyrocketed following an export ban by India.

The prices of onion, an essential cooking ingredient, will go down in 24 hours because of the government’s measures and for its adequate supply in the market, a member of Bangladesh Tariff Commission (BTC) has assured.
