The ongoing impasse over the Asia Cup trophy -- which India declined to collect during last month’s closing ceremony due to heightened tensions with Pakistan -- remains unresolved.

After some last minute negotiations between all stakeholders, the uncertainty over the Group A match between Pakistan and the UAE has seemingly cleared up as the Pakistan team has left the hotel and set off for the Dubai International Stadium for the tie, which is set to begin at 9:30 pm Bangladesh time, an hour later that the original schedule, announced the Asia Cricket Council. 

This will be the first time Pakistan play neighbours Afghanistan in a T20I match on home soil, the PCB said.

Pakistan, Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates will participate in a tri-series of Twenty20 international matches to tune up for next month's Asia Cup followed by the World Cup next year.

The planned meeting in Dhaka(July 24-25) is under threat after India, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan expressed unwillingness to attend, raising serious concerns about quorum.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the postponement of the remaining eight matches of the Pakistan Super League. 

"Pakistan Cricket Board confirms that the remaining eight matches of the Pakistan Super League have been shifted to the United Arab Emirates," read a PCB statement.
