The film, which was released on February 9 in the country, will be screened at Bankstown’s Hoyts Cinemas on February 16 and at Campbelltown’s Dumaresq Street Cinema on February 18, confirmed its production company, Alpha-i Studios.

With her film “Peyarar Subash” being released in the halls of Bangladesh, marking her much-awaited comeback on the silver screen in the country, the versatile artiste, Jaya Ahsan shared her thoughts, plans, and aspirations as an actor with The Daily Star.

Yesterday, the showbiz industry mourned the unexpected loss of beloved artist Ahmed Rubel. The actor will be laid to rest in his hometown, Gazipur, today following a janaza.

Jaya Ahsan reached the venue just an hour prior to the premiere of the show and then came the shocking news of Ahmed Rubel’s passing. The actor succumbed to death after suffering a massive attack just as he was about to enter Star Cineplex.

Noted actor Tariq Anam Khan is visiting the 45th Moscow International Film Festival (MIFF) with his film, “Peyarar Shubash”, along with its director Nurul Alam Atique. The actor landed in Moscow on April 20. 

“As a filmmaker, it gives me immense joy to have learnt that the film got selected in the competition category with so many notable international films,” said the “Lal Moroger Jhuti” director. “Although it took us quite a long time to bring the film to a releasable state, we really worked hard to make this project. I hope that it continues to make a mark all around the world, through different festivals.

Speaking about her critically acclaimed short-film, “ICU”, Sushama said “ It was a turning point in my career. It was selected in 16 international film festivals and is continuing to gain accolades”.

The film will have its international premier at the film festival, which will take place on April 26. In the project, Jaya Ahsan plays the lead role.
