Phlebotomy or drawing blood for diagnostic tests is the most commonly used invasive procedure all over the world. The World Health Organization has guidelines for phlebotomy, the full compliance of which is a precondition for better health care. Unfortunately, many local diagnostic centres do not comply with that.
