Prachyanat to stage ‘Agunjatra’ this Saturday at Shilpakala
First staged in 2022, "Agunjatra" is the Bangla adaptation of Indian playwright Mahesh Dattani’s “Seven Steps Around the Fire”, translated by Shahidul Mamun and adapted and directed by Azad Abul Kalam. The play takes audiences deep into the lives of hijra and transgender communities, confronting prejudice, politics, and the fight for dignity.

Kazi Toufikul Islam Emon brings ‘The Guardians of the Gods’ to Bangladesh
Emon, an actor and advisor from Prachyanat, was the only participant from Asia and played a dual role as both actor and country representative. While two other Bangladeshi artists—actor Nahida Ankhi and choreographer Diana Merlin—were initially selected, both were unable to join due to visa issues.

Prachyanat School's adaptation of 'Animal Farm' to take the stage today
The classic Orwellian allegory has been adapted and directed for stage by Jaganmoy Paul. The play will be preceded by the certificate-giving ceremony of the 47th batch starting at 6:30pm. The entry pass can be collected at the entrance of the Shilpakala Academy.

Prachyanat stages ‘Koinya’ at Mohila Samity after long hiatus
The popular Prachyanat drama “Koinya” is going to be staged on the stage of Bangladesh Mohila Samity in the Bailey Road area, after a long hiatus. The play will be screened tomorrow (November 18) at 7 pm. Murad Khan wrote the drama about the naïveté of the Sylhet-Sunamganj Haor area while it was directed by Azad Abul Kalam.
