West Bengal actress Idhika Paul debuted on the Bangladeshi silver screen by starring opposite Shakib Khan after which she gained attention across both Bengals.

After its release in Bangladesh on October 13 in 153 theatres, Arifin Shuvoo starrer movie "Mujib: The Making of a Nation" was released in over 500 theatres in India on October 27. 

Shahiduzzaman Selim's recent films, “Shurongo” and “Priyotoma”, generated significant buzz, and at present, he's gracing the screen in two new cinematic ventures, “Omar” and “Lipstick”. The actor recently shared some of his insights about the entertainment industry with The Daily Star.

Jahid Hasan from Tiger Media, the digital partner of “Priyotoma” told The Daily Star, “The amount of business we did from 20 movies in the last five years, just the songs of “Priyotoma” have surpassed on social media platforms, in terms of revenue.

The magic of Eid-ul-Adha continues to reverberate across theatres in Bangladesh as five Eid films mark their triumphant 50-day journey on the silver screen.  On the occasion of Eid, five films were released in theatres– Himel Ashraf's "Priyotoma," Raihan Rafi's "Shurongo," Bandhan Biswas' "Laal Shari," Chayanika Chowdhury's "Prohelika," and Saikat Nasir's "Casino." These movies, each with its own unique narrative and style, crossed the 50-day milestone.

After making a name for itself both nationally and internationally, "Priyotoma" is now getting ready to make its debut in the OTT scenes.

Since earlier this year, Shakib and Apu have been speaking for each other, supporting each other's films on social media and also have been seen touring together in the US

The charm of Bangladeshi cinema has reached international shores as actor Shakib Khan's film “Priyotoma” amazes audiences in the United States. The movie has garnered positive feedback from none other than American actress Courtney Coffey, who expressed her admiration for the film after watching it.

At the same time, the film also joins “Hawa” for a record of five consecutive weeks in a theatre in America. The film is running for the fifth week at Jamaica Multiplex. According to the distributors, “Priyotoma” is now the highest-grossing Bangladeshi film in single theatres in North America.

Idhika Paul, who is fondly called Bangladesh's "Priyotoma", made a stunning debut in Dhallywood alongside Shakib Khan in the superhit movie. 

Recently, Star Cineplex has released the list of top 10 movies of Star Cineplex for the month of July. And two Bangladeshi films have spotted the top two positions, beating top Hollywood big-budget movies. 

"Priyotoma" director Himel Ashraf, shared a heartfelt video on social media, capturing the emotions of the special event. He expressed his gratitude to Shakib Khan for standing by him through thick and thin, even during times of media scrutiny and doubts about his filmmaking abilities.

Released this Eid ul Adha, “Priyotoma” is a Versatile Media production. Late Farooq Hossain and director Himel Ashraf jointly wrote the screenplay and dialogues for the movie.

Both "Shurongo" and "Priyotoma" have recently become victims of piracy after their films were released on movie-related platforms.
