Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique resumes his academic duties at Department of Mass Communication and Journalism in Dhaka University today after completing his duties as vice-chancellor of the university for eight and a half years.

Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman joined his office today as acting vice-chancellor of Dhaka University replacing Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique at the end of his tenure.

Dhaka University pro-vice chancellor Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman has been made acting vice chancellor of the university. The circular comes as the tenure of Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique ends, according to a circular of the education ministry.

Dhaka University senators nominate three-member panel including the incumbent Vice-Chancellor (VC) AAMS Arefin Siddique for appointment of its new VC. Two others are incumbent treasurer Prof Kamal Uddin and former Awami League-backed Blue panel convener Prof Abdul Aziz.
