The Public Administration Reform Commission has proposed renaming the BCS (Health) cadre as the Bangladesh Health Service, alongside the establishment of a separate Public Service Commission (Health) to oversee recruitment, promotions, and related activities. 

Although a lot can be said about the civil service obsession of the people in general, it is one of the guaranteed pathways towards upward mobility in Bangladesh.

After the administration reform commission recently revealed recommendations it was considering, protests by officials of the admin and 25 other cadres have significantly intensified, affecting their work.

ABM Sattar, president of the organisation, warned that if the commission chairman did not resign, they know "how to implement it"
