Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman and wife Saira Banu are separating after 29 years of marriage, their lawyer said on Tuesday.

The 70th edition of the National Film Awards, held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on October 8, celebrated the excellence of some of India’s top cinematic talents. The recipients of such an honour shared their joy and gratitude after the event.

Khatija Rahman, daughter of Oscar-winning composer A R Rahman, is set to make her mark on the global film scene with her debut as an international film score composer in the upcoming project "Lioness". This film, marking the first official Indo-UK co-production under the bilateral treaty of 2008, is helmed by director Kajri Babbar.

The concert by A R Rahman, which occurred in Chennai on September 10, has faced significant criticism from fans due to poor event management. Attendees of the music maestro's concert took to the social media platform X to share videos and express their unusual and negative experiences online.

A. R. Rahman, one of the most celebrated musicians of the sub-continent, confirmed his return to Bangladesh on Saturday. The tickets of the concert, scheduled for March 29, is set to be available from Monday morning, 10 am onwards. 

AR Rahman said that his "decision" to compose the music for the movie "Muhammad: The Messenger of God", "was in good faith” with no intentions to offend any religious group.
