Veteran actor Rajinikanth was rushed to Apollo Hospitals in India’s Chennai late Monday night following a bout of intense abdominal pain, according to a statement by the Chennai Police. 

Following the much-anticipated reunion of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth in "Vettaiyan" after 32 years, there is now speculation that Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth could also share the screen again after three decades.

The two entities Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth have worked together in several movies over the years. The former is now known as the Shahenshah of Bollywood while the latter is the superstar of the Tamil film industry. They were last seen in the film “Hum” in 1991.

Rajinikanth's latest release, “Jailer”, continues to dominate the box office. Since its worldwide debut on August 10, the film has amassed over Rs 328 crore net in India within 22 days and is steadily progressing towards crossing Rs 650 crore worldwide.

With the release being only two days away, fans are abuzz with excitement, even causing speculation of an explosive box-office opening.
