The play is centred around a timeline of 1744-1757 when British imperialism began to spread around the globe, especially the Indian subcontinent, to consciously rule them.

Adding to this he also mentioned that he is one of the witnesses of this incident and took a photo of the ongoing fire. “When I was capturing this moment, my heart was wrenching, and I was in tears while being a witness of such a moment. Since December 22, Aranyak has been staging the play continuously for six days at various theatre halls across Kolkata, including Kalyani Mancha in the city, as well as in Madhyamgram and Belgharia in West Bengal, India.

“Rarang”, the popular stage play by Aranyak Natyadal, will be staged again tomorrow—on the occasion of May Day—at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

Mamunur Rashid has written many plays for his own drama group, Aranyak Natyadal, throughout his illustrious career. He has also directed several plays for the stage as well. Among them, one of his most successful plays, which he has both written and directed, is “Rarang”.

Once upon a time, Chanchal was a regular performer on the stage for Aranyak Natyadal. During that time, two of the group’s productions, “Rarang” and “Songkranti” garnered a lot of appreciation from the audience. Now, Chanchal is all set to make a comeback to the stage after an extended hiatus. The actor will once again take to the stage to perform the 199th and 200th shows of “Rarang” this month.
