Batting great Virat Kohli struck his 100th half-century in T20 cricket to steer Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a thumping nine-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.

Mumbai named Bumrah in the XI as the India bowler returned three months after he missed the final day of the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney due to a back injury.

Kohli achieved the feat in his 386th innings, placing him second on the all-time list behind West Indies great Chris Gayle, who reached the milestone in 381 innings.

Kohli's strike rate and his effectiveness against spin bowling had become a hot topic of debate in recent weeks.

Hyderabad could only score 171-8 as RCB registered only their second win in nine games and are still languishing at the bottom of the 10-team table.

The match produced the highest aggregate for a T20 game with a tally of 549 runs.

The ace Indian pacer's masterful 5-21 won him the player-of-the-match and restricted the star-studded RCB line up to 196-8 after Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to field first at the home ground in Mumbai.

Maxwell fell for a duck against Mumbai Indians (MI) during today’s IPL match at the Wankhede Stadium and joined Karthik and Sharma as the batters to be dismissed on duck for the most times in the competition, with all three having 17 ducks under their name.

Kohli earlier had struck the first century of this IPL season.
