Russia believes that the US ambassador's visit to Shaheenbagh to meet with the family of a supporter of an opposition political party is an attempt to interfere in the internal affairs of Bangladesh.

The Russian Embassy in Dhaka today said that although they appreciated the gesture of Bangladeshi citizens who wanted to volunteer in the Russian military operation in Ukraine, there is no need for it.

The United Nations and the United States condemns a mortar attack on the Russian embassy in Damascus that did not, however, cause any known injuries.
