Legendary Bangladeshi singer Sabina Yasmin is ready to make a triumphant return to the stage at the 8th Bangladesh Festival, scheduled for May 17, at the Toronto International Pavilion. This marks her first international performance since recovery from a health setback.​

Sabina teamed up with legendary singer Syed Abdul Hadi after eight years for a brand-new song. The track was recorded for the popular magazine show “Ityadi”.

Flautist Shahidul Islam, a native of Brahmanbaria, reminisced about the first time he held a flute at a local Baishakhi Mela, where he would often play and immerse himself in the art. What began as a simple pastime eventually led him to turn his love for music into a profession at Bangladesh Betar in 1999.

The singer's daughter, Yasmeen Fairooz Badhon, confirmed the news to The Daily Star. On Friday, during a programme titled “Amader Sabina Yasmin: Ami Achi Thakbo” at a five-star hotel in the capital, Sabina Yasmin fell ill while performing. She was immediately taken to a hospital in the capital for medical attention and was later discharged.

For the past two days, she has been admitted to PG Hospital after her condition deteriorated. Earlier, she had been receiving medical care at another hospital in the capital. However, the severity of her health required an urgent transfer.
