The veteran relentlessly fought for climate justice, representing the underdog

The opening session of COP28 yesterday started with an outpouring of remembrance and respect for Saleemul Huq and Pete Betts, two climate activists who passed away in October

Saleemul Huq was not only a visionary, he was an exceptional man who could show respect, care, and kindness to every individual he met.

The fight against climate change is difficult even at the best of times. But this week began with the loss of one of the foremost warriors in this fight.

The fact that he was one of the leading global experts on climate change and an integral part of  nearly every international and regional group of any worth anywhere  is something one would never know by talking to him.
