Today marks the death anniversary of popular Dhallywood actor Salman Shah, who passed away on September 6, 1996. Nearly three decades have gone by since his untimely demise, yet his popularity remains undiminished. While celebrated for his acting, Salman also nurtured a deep love for music.

Directed by Jakir Hossain Raju, "Jibon Songsar" became a commercial success when it first hit theatres on October 18, 1996. The film, rich in storytelling, music, and performances, featured not only Salman Shah and Shabnur but also the popular duo of Farooque and Babita from the black-and-white era.

Iconic ‘90s actress Shabnur, one of Dhallywood's most beloved stars, celebrates her 46th birthday today. Known for her immense talent and versatility, she remains an inspiration to many of today’s actresses.  

The much-anticipated biopic on late Dhallywood superstar Salman Shah, directed by veteran filmmaker Chotku Ahmed, has been shelved following objections raised by the actor's mother, Neela Chowdhury.

Today would have marked the 53rd birth anniversary of one of Bangladesh's most beloved actors, Salman Shah. Had he been alive, Salman would have turned 53, and the celebrations would likely have been spectacular.

In a tragic turn of events, M A Khaleq, acclaimed director of the film “Swapner Thikana” and a distinguished freedom fighter, passed away early this morning, after a month of suffering from the aftermath of an unfortunate accident in Motijheel, in the capital.

Since their undertaking, 11 of the star’s films have been digitally remastered and can be watched through digital medium. The films are, “Keyamot Theke Keyamot”, “Denmohor”, “Prem Juddho”, “Shotter Mrittu Nei”, “Shopner Prithibi”, “Bikkhob”, “Jibon Songsar”, “Mohamilon”, “Asha Bhalobasa”, “Ananda Ashru”, and “Ontore Ontore”.

Bangladesh Film Archive is set to showcase two iconic films featuring the beloved Bangladeshi film star, Salman Shah, on the big screen. The Salman Shah Fan Club has announced that the movies "Jibon Songsar", directed by Zakir Hossain Raju, and "Bikkhov", directed by Mohammad Hannan, will be screened at the Bangladesh Film Archive on the upcoming Friday.

The dynamic duo of Salman Shah and Shabnur delivered numerous cinematic hits, from "Shopner Thikana" to "Anondo Osru". Their on-screen chemistry was enchanting enough to draw crowds to the cinemas, just to witness their magic.

"Keyamat Theke Keyamat", one of Sohan's iconic creations, remains immensely popular amongst new generations of viewers, a testament to its enduring appeal. Even after three decades since its release, the film continues to captivate audiences.

On the occasion of Salman Shah's death anniversary, Shabnur took to her social media and posted three pictures with him, captioning, “Where have you gone, Salman? Your memories still leave me in tears.”

It has been 27 years since his untimely demise, and yet his death remains mystery to his fans– Was it suicide or did he become a victim of a a planned murder?
