Several Bangladeshi firms have partnered with Starlink to support the setup of ground earth stations in Bangladesh.

Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus has extended an invitation to billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk to visit Bangladesh and oversee the launch of SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service in the country within the next 90 working days.

The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has drafted guidelines for satellite internet service operators, permitting wholly owned foreign companies to obtain licences -- paving the way for Elon Musk’s Starlink and similar companies to enter Bangladesh.

Starlink, Elon Musk's satellite internet service, is expected to launch services in Bangladesh by 2023, according to the official website of Starlink, which is currently accepting pre-orders from Bangladesh.
