Criticising the Election Commission for showing “discrimination” to women councillors in allocating electoral symbols, National Human Rights Commission Chairman Mizanur Rahman says the commission’s attitude is actually the reflection of the society, where discrimination is deeply rooted.

The Election Commission designates gas stove, bangles, frocks, dolls and the likes as election symbols for reserved women candidates in the upcoming municipal election, which instantly triggers resentments among candidates of Awami League, BNP and other political parties.
