Ivory Coast crushed Seychelles 9-0 in Abidjan on Friday to create a record winning margin for a World Cup qualifier in Africa.

Bangladesh captain Jamal Bhuiyan was dropped from the starting eleven in the second FIFA friendly against Seychelles at Sylhet District Stadium on Tuesday.

Seychelles coach Neville Both is wary of challenge posed by Bangladesh’s two centre-backs – Tapu Barman and Tariq Kazi – and midfielder Jamal Bhuiyan ahead of the second FIFA friendly match in Sylhet on Tuesday.

The defenders are doing the job of the forwards by scoring goals for the men in red and green, even though the forwards are statistically still ahead of defenders in terms of scoring international goals.

It has more or less been clear that Seychelles national football squad are full of amateur booters who play at the weekend after managing their individual jobs but the fact that they earn nothing through the sport is perhaps a quite surprising to the football-loving people of Bangladesh, who are used to seeing the country's national booters being paid millions of takas per season.

Ahead of the matches first of two FIFA friendlies against Seychelles, Bangladesh captain Jamal Bhuiyan feels the need for having naturalised Nigerian footballer Eleta Kingsley in the squad as the 33-year-old forward is counting hours to make his debut for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh tried to replace Brunei for the tournament, which was scheduled to be played in Sylhet, by inviting teams like Cambodia, Philippines and Afghanistan. However, Cambodia and Philippines informed BFF that they were already booked for FIFA friendly matches in this window while Afghanistan team were not ready to play at the moment.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has decided to host a tri-nation football tournament in March’s FIFA window where Bangladesh will play against Brunei and Seychelles as part of providing platform for the national team for play international matches in FIFA window.
