Bangladesh head coach Chandika Hathurusingha said that the inclusion of skipper Shakib Al Hasan for tomorrow’s World Cup match against India in Pune will depend on the scan reports of the all-rounder’s injury which the team management has apparently not received yet. 

Although three days have passed since Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan left the ground after feeling uncomfortable with his left thigh during the World Cup game against New Zealand on Friday, the team management has yet to provide the exact picture of the all-rounder’s injury status.

Shakib Al Hasan has no chance of being match fit in time for the third and final Test against New Zealand starting from March 16 at Christchurch.

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan sustained an injury to his left ring finger during the final of the sixth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League and has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, scheduled to start on February 13.

Bangladesh's star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is expected to return to Bangladesh from Australia tomorrow after treatment for his left hand's injured little finger.

Surgery was required immediately as Shakib was in danger of having his hand completely disabled if the pus had burst. Shakib had said before the Asia Cup that he wanted to undergo the surgery to correct his little finger on the left hand before the Asia Cup but later joined the team at UAE.
