Whether for the song Boiam Pakhi or the unpredictable personality of Allen Swapan, everyone loved Chorki's original series, "Myself Allen Swapan". We asked director Shihab Shaheen, the mastermind behind the character, about why he felt the need for a separate series for Allen Swapan.

"I am getting countless letters, calls and posts showering praises on Allen Swapan. As an actor, I cannot express my joy in words,” shares Nasir Uddin Khan on his character in the web-series "Myself Allen Swapan".

Recently, the characters from OTT shows, Allen Swapan from “Syndicate”, and its spin-off “Myself Allen Swapan”, and OC Harun from “Mohanagar” has been actively interacting with fans on the social media prior to the release of these shows.

The Chorki original series, "Syndicate"—starring Afran Nisho and directed by Shihab Shaheen—was one of the most acclaimed projects of last year. Nisho portrayed the role of a banker who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, proving his versatility as an actor. After the immense success of the web-series, the director announced "Myself Allen Shopon", a plot focusing on the much loved character from “Syndicate”, Allen Shopon—played by Nasir Uddin Khan. 

National Film Award-winning actress Mamo and noted director Shihab Shaheen have opened up to the media about their divorce. According to reports, they two were divorced in September, 2020.

Lux Channel I Superstar (2006) winner Zakia Bari Mamo tied the knot with Shihab Shaheen in 2015. They revealed the news of their marriage after four years on November 20, 2019, through social media, where they posted pictures of them celebrating their fourth marriage anniversary.

The premiere show of the web-film, “Mayashalik”—starring popular actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba— will take place today, at 6:30 pm, in Bashundhara City’s Star Cineplex. Following the premiere, the web-film will also be released on the OTT platform, Binge. “Mayashalik” has been directed by Shihab Shaheen.
