US Senator Bernie Sanders has critisised Israel over police violence at the funeral of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.

Israeli police clashed with Palestinian mourners packed around the coffin of killed Al Jazeera reporter Shireen Abu Akleh at the start of her funeral procession in Jerusalem on Friday.

All we can now hope for is that Shireen Abu Akleh’s death does not get lost in the crowd of the thousands of Palestinian killings before hers.

An Al Jazeera reporter was killed by Israeli army gunfire in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, the Qatar-based news channel said, but the military said she may have been shot by Palestinians as they clashed with its troops.
