Actor Afran Nisho has been a subject of widespread discussion and appreciation this year, courtesy of his commendable performance in his debut silver screen project, "Shurongo". Since then, he has found himself inundated with numerous scripts and film proposals, even from the other Bengal across the border.

Shahiduzzaman Selim's recent films, “Shurongo” and “Priyotoma”, generated significant buzz, and at present, he's gracing the screen in two new cinematic ventures, “Omar” and “Lipstick”. The actor recently shared some of his insights about the entertainment industry with The Daily Star.

Released during Eid, "Shurongo" gained an overwhelming response from moviegoers, with theatres across the country, including Dhaka, filling up within weeks of its release. This wave of success, however, has now extended beyond theatres to make a mark on OTT platforms.

One of the highest grossing films of Last Eid Ul Adha, can now be enjoyed on a global scale as an extended version of “Shurongo” will soon be released on Chorki. Directed by Raihan Rafi, the film marks Afran Nisho’s debut into the silver screen.

The magic of Eid-ul-Adha continues to reverberate across theatres in Bangladesh as five Eid films mark their triumphant 50-day journey on the silver screen.  On the occasion of Eid, five films were released in theatres– Himel Ashraf's "Priyotoma," Raihan Rafi's "Shurongo," Bandhan Biswas' "Laal Shari," Chayanika Chowdhury's "Prohelika," and Saikat Nasir's "Casino." These movies, each with its own unique narrative and style, crossed the 50-day milestone.

Tama Mirza is on cloud nine with the thunderous response to “Shurongo”. Even in its sixth week, the film is running successfully across theatres. It is also doing well in Kolkata, USA and Canada.

Recently, Star Cineplex has released the list of top 10 movies of Star Cineplex for the month of July. And two Bangladeshi films have spotted the top two positions, beating top Hollywood big-budget movies.

Afran Nisho, known for his stellar performances in TV dramas and web films, has now stepped onto the big screen with the film, "Shurongo". His film hit 31 theaters across West Bengal last Friday, marking his debut in the neighboring country.

The blockbuster Eid release, "Shurongo," starring actor Afran Nisho and Tama Mirza, has not only taken the Bangladeshi audience by storm, but has now ventured into West Bengal, India. With the movie being screened in 31 theaters in West Bengal since yesterday, the film's stars and crew are witnessing the wave of appreciation firsthand.

Shahriar Shakil, the film’s producer, confirmed the news to The Daily Star. He is currently in Kolkata, where the movie will premiere later this evening. Raihan Rafi expressed his optimism, hoping that the West Bengal audience will embrace the film as warmly as the audience in Bangladesh has.

The "Shurongo" team looked super excited engaging in funny banters with popular host Mir Afsar Ali. Afran Nisho, Raihan Rafi and Tama Mirza also enjoyed a hearty brunch with Jaya Ahsan and Srijit Mukherji. 

Raihan Rafi’s “Shurongo” will be releasing in New York and Los Angeles on July 21 and the creators have come up with a creative promotional campaign; featuring its trailer at the famous Times Square of New York. Through this promotional campaign they will be able to reach a global audience.

Ahead of its release in West Bengal, SVF treated the audience with the movie's trailer on July 16. The trailer showcased some magnetic moments and powerful dialogues from the film. 

Starting from next week, "Shurongo" will be screened in over 50 theatres across the country.

During the surprise visit, the residents of Bhuapur requested the star to construct a cinema hall for their hometown. Bhuapur once had two cinema halls, however, none remain currently.
