Filmmaker Shyam Benegal, a giant of Indian cinema and one of the guiding lights of the Parallel Cinema movement, passed away due to kidney-related ailments in Mumbai on December 23. He was 90.

Directed by Shyam Benegal, "Mujib" will have a special premiere in Mumbai on October 25. The film will be released in India on October 27.

Arifin Shuvoo responded to a question about how well he portrayed the role of Bangabandhu by saying, "I'm not the one who should judge that; the audience will. What I can say is that the film's director, Shyam Benegal, is quite satisfied with my performance. Additionally, Bangabandhu's family has seen the film and expressed their satisfaction. They have acknowledged the effort and hard work we put into it."
