Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin’s response to the retirement of women’s football team striker Sirat Jahan Swapna and head coach Golam Rabbani Choton pulling himself out of the role has been a passive one.

The man who led the senior women’s team to SAFF Women’s Championship title for the first time in September last year after leading the age-group women’s teams to many accolades in South Asia and beyond, confirmed his decision to the Daily Star.

Swapna was one of the most reliable strikers of the national team. She played a major role in the team winning the title by scoring four goals in Nepal last September.
