Disney aims to reboot this 45-year-old sci-fi franchise with a fresh vision — one that explores modern questions of artificial intelligence, human morality, and the control of technology. The story centres on Ares, a highly advanced “programme” sent from the virtual world known as the Grid into the real world. His mission is to establish the first direct contact between humanity and artificial life — but that contact is far from peaceful.

Star Cineplex, country’s first multiplex cinema hall, is set to celebrate its 21st anniversary on October 8 with special plans for journalists and audiences.

Two of Hollywood’s most anticipated films- “Mission: Impossible – Final Reckoning” and Marvel’s “Thunderbolts” are set to release today at Star Cineplex, sparking major excitement among Bangladeshi moviegoers.

The breakthrough came during a meeting held Thursday (May 22) afternoon at Star Cineplex’s Bashundhara City branch, where both parties agreed on a revised revenue-sharing model. This Eid-ul-Fitr, the overwhelming popularity of Bangladeshi films has led Star Cineplex to halt screenings of Hollywood blockbusters at its branches nationwide. Initially, the multiplex scheduled local and international films, hoping to offer a diverse cinematic experience. However, due to the overwhelming demand for domestic productions, the organisation has shifted its focus entirely toward Bangladeshi releases.

However, just 12 days after its debut, Star Cineplex removed “Jinn 3” from its screens, and the film is no longer being shown in any theatres across the country.

However, now, just a week after the film's release, it has been confirmed that the number of shows at Star Cineplex alone has now doubled.

Actor Mosharraf Karim, despite recently undergoing surgery to remove a tumour from his ankle, has continued promoting his latest film “Chokkor 302”. He made an appearance in a wheelchair, with his leg in a cast, at a screening at Bashundhara Star Cineplex in the capital, where he interacted with the audience and spoke about the project.

The number of shows for the movie “Jongli”, starring Siam Ahmed and Shobnom Bubly, has been increased in multiplexes.

In response to growing audience demand, Star Cineplex continues to expand its network of multiplex cinemas across the country. As part of this initiative, a brand-new branch is set to be opened in Dhaka’s Uttara area on Eid day.
