Dhaka stocks gained in early trade today, halting the losing streak the bourse suffered for eight days in a row.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse of Bangladesh, lost 84 points, or 1.42 percent, to close the day at 5,814

The DSEX added 35 points, or 0.57 percent, to end at 6,166

Daily turnover, which measures the total volume of shares traded, fell for the fourth day in a row yesterday as investors have adopted a wait and see approach to gauge market trends

Dhaka stocks edged up in the morning trade today, maintaining the upward trend for the fourth consecutive session.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) opened slightly higher today.

At 1.30 pm, DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, lost 82.57 points or 1.32 per cent to 6,134.31, lowest since June 30 last year.
