The Swiss National Bank (SNB) on Thursday said it was crucial to draw lessons from the Credit Suisse crisis that led to the bank's downfall and forced rescue by rival UBS (UBSG.S) and consider measures that would prevent such events in the future.

The High Court today summoned the head of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU), Md Masud Biswas, for not giving his signature, designation and address in the statement – submitted before it, which earlier sought information on money deposited by Bangladeshis to Swiss banks.

Bangladeshi nationals' deposits in Swiss banks rose 20.18 percent year-on-year in 2016 to 661.96 million Swiss francs or Tk 5,575 crore. The Swiss National Bank (SNB) came up with the data in its annual report titled “Banks in Switzerland 2016”.

The overall unease business people are experiencing is going to be hugely detrimental for the country. The expansion plans for industry are not happening and will not happen if we do not go after the root causes of capital flight.
