It was meant to be the happiest moment for Ashikur Rahman Shukur’s life as he was going tie the knot but a sudden anti-militant raid in the area and the subsequent section 144 clamped in the two-kilometre radius added misery to his celebration.

The seven people, who were killed in a militant den in Nasirpur of Moulvibazar yesterday, died in suicidal blast, doctors say after carrying out autopsy on their body.

Law enforcers postpone Operation Maximus at suspected militant den in Borohat area of Moulvibazar for today due to insufficient light. The SWAT-led operation will resume tomorrow morning.
