Local cinemas have been awaiting welcoming new releases, from the beginning of the new year. Continuing this momentum, two government-funded films are hitting theatres nationwide today.

This event inspired director Nazrul Islam Khan to start production of the film "Rana Plaza" that same year. The film starred Pori Moni as Reshma and Symon Sadiq as Tittu.

In the midst of a star-studded lineup of movies, ”Maya”, starring Shobnom Bubly has been added to the anticipated list. The movie will showcase Bubly opposite three heroes, vying for her love.

National Award Winning actor and President of Bangladesh Film Artistes' Association, Ilias Kanchan has shunned the recently resigned joint general secretary and actor Symon Sadik’s claim of the organisation’s ineffectiveness in cessation of simultaneous releases of foreign with Bengali films in a recent remark.

It is worth mentioning that yesterday three films were released in Bangladesh. Two of the films are local productions, “Kagojer Bou” and “Shesh Bazi”. In addition, the film “Hubba” from the neighbouring country, India, starring actor Mosharraf Karim has also been released in Bangladesh.

A few days ago, Pori Moni officially signed a government grant film called "Story of Dodo". Today the name of her co-actor has been revealed.

Apu Biswas' latest release "Laal Sari," will be released this Eid. She will be seen opposite Symon Sadik in the film. 

Dhallywood actor Symon Sadik is set to dazzle the silver screen once again, after he recently announced his collaboration with two upcoming movies, "Freelancer". directed by Mizanur Rahman Mizan and 'Shesh Baji', directed by Mehedi Hasan. 

Mahiya Mahi has recently started shooting for her newest film Ananda Ashru, opposite to Symon Sadik. The shooting is already half complete, and the film is expected to be released quite soon after.
