Rising star Dibya Jyoti has quickly made a name for himself in the hit web-series “Mohanagar 2”, solidifying his place among the new generation of actors. The skilled artiste is the son of celebrated playwright Brindaban Das and acclaimed actress Shahnaz Khushi.

The Critics category of the “Blender's Choice-The Daily Star OTT and Digital Content Awards 2023” witnessed stellar recognition for Dibya Jyoti and Tanzika Amin for their remarkable performances in “Mohanagar 2”. 

Following a hiatus of nearly six weeks, Tanzika Amin is back on set, shooting for a new series on MaasrangaTelevision. Directed by Nazrul Islam Raju, this drama highlights the complexities of city life. 

The Bangladesh Film Censorship Board (BFCB) halted the screening of Raihan Rafi’s film "Omimangshito" on OTT platform iScreen, citing concerns that it was unsuitable for public viewing. 

As police officer Jahangir drives home, clutching a small glass bottle, his recent completion of a murder mystery assignment brings him no sense of triumph. Unbeknownst to SI Miraz, he is caught in a time loop, unsure of its destination. Shehzad, with his enigmatic persona, sets the stage, leading the audience seamlessly from a Bangladeshi web series' murder mystery to the realm of science fiction. I'm referring to the recent release of “Kaalpurush” on the OTT platform Chorki, a series quickly gaining acclaim for its adept fusion of murder mystery and sci-fi elements.

In the web-series, Tanzika plays the character of a housewife, Nova. “My character is unique and significant, offering ample opportunities to showcase my acting skills,” she described.

Director Salzar Rahman used to direct music videos and ad-films. Sharing about the plot of “Kalpurush” he said, "I had visited a medicine shop in Old Dhaka a long time ago. The story of this series came to mind for various reasons from there. Then I wrote the series during the time of Covid-19 quarantine period.”

Chorki has unveiled the first look of "Kaalpurush", featuring Chanchal Chowdhury, Tanzika Amin, and FS Nayeem.

Raihan Rafi's highly anticipated web-film "Omimangshito" will not be available on iScreen this Eid-ul-Fitr, due to complications with censorship.

The film unfolds the story of these women, each facing the harsh realities of life in different corners of the city, falling prey to MLM business pyramid schemes.

Various individuals contribute perspectives to the murder investigation report, yet these journalists remain blindfolded. A reporter suggests the murder occurred at approximately 2:30am. While a third speculates that the motive behind the murder is connected to foreign influences. Meanwhile, a news report suggests that the victims may have taken their lives.

The shooting for the project has recently been completed, and it will be released in the beginning of next year. The film also features Abu Huraira Tanvir, Irfan Sajjad, and Shahriar Rana. It is produced by Alpha i Studio Ltd.

The 40-minute long film will be screened at the Sammilito Sankskritik Jote's Victory Day celebration program titled, ‘Bijoy Utsab’ at the Central Shaheed Minar, on Wednesday, December 13, at 6 PM.

Tanzika Amin began her career in the showbiz industry around 2004 via the popular reality show, Lux Channel i Superstar. She ultimately became the first runner-up and since, then she has been seen appearing in dramas, cinemas and web series.

“Damal” director and the cast for the new web-film have been tight-lipped about “Omimagshito”. Albeit, Raihan Rafi did share that he is currently invested in a new project.
