Attorney General Mahbubey Alam today prayed to the High Court to uphold the trial court verdict that sentenced 26 people, including 16 former Rapid Action Battalion men, to death and jailed nine others for various terms for killing seven people in Narayanganj in April, 2014.

The High Court has rejected a plea filed by sacked Rab official Lt Col (retd) Tareque Sayeed Mohammad for scrapping the trial against him in Narayanganj seven-murder case.

A Narayanganj court frames charges against 35 people including prime accused Nur Hossain and three former Rab officials -- Tareque Sayeed, Arif Hossain and Masud Rana – in two cases filed for killing seven people in the district in 2014.
