Experimenting with dark content has always been one of director Vicky Zahed’s strengths as a storyteller. This time, his web series “Chokro”, based on a dark yet real-life plot, earned him the Best Director (Series) award at Blender’s Choice – The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards this year.

Vicky Zahed returns with a new mystery as his flash fiction “Ondho Balok” readies for release on Chorki at 12:01 am on September 18. Written by Nazim Ud Daula, the story blends love, fate, and the tension between belief and doubt, promising a fresh take on the director’s signature suspense.

Actor Tawsif Mahbub endured a nerve-racking challenge for director Vicky Zahed’s upcoming drama “Khowabnama”, which blends thriller and supernatural elements. The newly released poster shows Tawsif lying in a grave, his body draped with snakes — a striking image that sparked disbelief among fans. To prove it was real, the actor shared behind-the-scenes footage showing live snakes being placed on him during the shoot.

A light-hearted family drama titled “Beshi Bole Bulbuli” has taken YouTube by storm since its release on July 23, crossing half a million views within just 10 hours on CMV’s official channel. The drama features popular actors Totini and Tawsif Mahbub in lead roles, with direction by Rubel Hasan and a screenplay written by Mezbah Uddin Sumon.

For shopping and dining out, Tawsif prefers the convenience of paying by card. “It’s really hard carrying cash. With a card, you can buy anything, anywhere—it’s just more convenient,” he says.

Television actress Tanjim Saiyara Totini sustained a head injury while shooting for a drama in Chattogram yesterday evening. The incident occurred when a light stand on set fell on her head, prompting immediate hospitalisation.

After a two-year hiatus, Bangladesh’s showbiz stars are once again gearing up to take the field—this time with a new name and a fresh format. Filming for the project began on January 23 in the lush, scenic beauty of Jaflong in Sylhet—a fitting backdrop for a love story that producer Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Raz believes will enhance the romance at the heart of the narrative. Raz shared that the film's location was carefully selected to emphasise the story’s emotional and visual richness, capturing the raw beauty of nature as the tale of love unfolds around it.

Breaking away from his conventional comedic roles, the popular small-screen actor is eager to challenge himself as an actor. From playing a serial killer to a professor and now a rockstar, he is ready to mould himself to fit each performance.

This project also marked Tawsif Mahbub’s OTT debut, which received an enthusiastic response from viewers. “My very first OTT project is getting a spin-off, which means the audience loved it. I’m thankful to them. My TV drama debut was with ‘All Time Dourer Upor’, and now ‘Chokro’ on OTT. These first projects will always be special to me.”

Tasnia Farin established herself in the realm of Showbiz through her work in television. Then again, since ransitioning to OTT content and movies, she became less visible in tele-fictions.

Meanwhile, two trailers from the three dramas have already been revealed, while one is yet to be released. Further updates will be announced alongside the release date of each drama on CMV’s Facebook page.

After “Rehnuma”, famed director Vicky Zahed will once again be pairing up with Mehazabien Chowdhury and Tawsif Mahbub, for his new OTT production, “Kajoler Dinratri”. The OTT film greeted the audience on the first day of the new year on Deepto Play.
