Education ministry-formed committee says the way Narayanganj school headmaster Shyamal Kanti Bhakta was suspended was beyond relevant rules. A school student made inconsistent statements on whether the teacher said anything demeaning religion and hence the allegation may not be considered acceptable, the report said.

An education ministry probe committee found no evidence that Shyamal Kanti Bhakta had hurt anyone's religious sentiment though, on this allegation, the Narayanganj headmaster was publicly humiliated on a local lawmaker's instruction.
