Prime Ministers Sheikh Hasina today reposed full faith in the leadership of her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in resolving the pending major issues, including the Teesta river water-sharing deal, between the two countries.

When Bangladesh and India were about to ink a deal on sharing the Teesta water in 2010, people living by the river in Rangpur region dreamt of better days.

On the last week of May 2018, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that the signing of an agreement on sharing Teesta water would not be possible without taking West Bengal on board. She said this at a press conference in New Delhi, according to a video record published on the external affairs ministry website.
