Telenor, the parent company of leading mobile phone operator Grameenphone, has a long-term commitment to the Bangladesh market.

Norway wants a quick and amicable solution to the complications that mobile operator Grameenphone faces regarding its operations, in light of payment of dues to Bangladesh Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (BTRC).

The Board of Directors of Grameenphone appoints Yasir Azman as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bangladeshi operation, effective from February 1, 2020.
